Replaced stock receiver and now have an Airbag message

Post by travisct »

First post here, Hello Everyone! So yesterday I replaced the stock
hu-804 receiver in a 2002 v70xc, including adding a microphone that I ran from behind the receiver, through the plastic under the steering column, through the fuse box, and up the column on the drivers side of the windshield (I did notice that this is also were the wiring for the side airbag is run), finally coming out by the sun visor. Long story short, at some point I must have tripped something or disconnected something somewhere, because now there is a message on the dash reading something to the effect of "SRS airbag urgent....". Any help or ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. Im so bummed, because everything else works perfect.
Thanks!

So, you basically have to take it to the dealership to have it reset. Just tell them it's covered under Volvo for Life service. It's a 5 minute fix for them. If you're able to talk to the technician, tell them your old radio got stolen and it tripped the SRS light, or something along those lines.

Next time, when you're unplugging things, disconnect the cars battery and make sure everything is reconnected, turn your key to position II and then connect your battery. You will avoid a lot of issues this way.

Thanks Richie!
I ended up buying the vida/dice software and did it myself. Thanks for the input.
