2004 Volvo XC 90 T6 AWD - Alarm system draining battery

Post by Volvolover74 »

I have been getting the "Alarm system service required" message, the alarm has been going off out of the blue & I have been having to get a jump to be able to drive my truck almost daily if not driven enough any given day. The issue is worse in the cold.

I have seen in some posts that it's possibly the alarm system module but is it possible that the alarm system can be disabled to keep it from draining the battery? And would it be possible to use the key fob to lock & unlock the doors? The battery is just replaced was only a year & a half old but wouldn't keep a charge. I was told that something is continuously pulling power when the battery was checked.

Thank you for your help and suggestions in advanced.

Have you checked your charging system? Are there any codes other than alarm displayed?
