Have an 02 S60 T5 with 205K. It has the Geartronic Transmission in it. 3 years ago I had a rebuilt tranny put in Jan 2010. Car had 160K on it when I made the change. The car has sit in my garage for past 12-14 months without moving or running. Took it out to sell and Service Transmission light came on. Volvo code came up: "TCM-010F Lock Up Solenoid SLV"
In Nov, 2011, I had the Timing belt, water pump, etc done at 193,756.
Interior is in very good condition (Charcoal Leather). Exterior is 6/7 out of 10 for its age
My questions is, is there an easy solution to this?
Should I just part it out? Should I sell as is? What would it be worth as is? Thanks

Please sell her complete for a project car to another enthusiast.
I have observed on the forums that so many US members particularly seem unphased and perfectly happy to part out vehicles with good or excellent body condition and often immaculate interiors because of mechanical issues they wish not to address or perhaps can afford to repair themselves.
It's a real shame that these cars get destroyed when surely Volvo enthusisasts more than any other group of people should be endeavoring to keep them alive and on the roads.
As the numbers of older models reduce they certainly cannot be bought back later.
At the very least they should be sold as 'project vehicles' for restoration'.
Vehicles that are bad accident damaged or severely mistreated thru lack of care or maintenance, fair enough, pull them apart for spare parts to keep the viable ones alive.
Sadly, 'here down under' we lack the volume of older 2nd hand vehicles to supply the fewer enthusiasts that are about which makes good used parts hard to get and exceedingly overpriced.
Our alternatives are to order new parts overseas and pay a fortune for shipping on top.

Well, I did not have any experience on this issue, but I ran a cross a thread on the other forum on similar issue. It could be an easy fix considering your case. It was very interesting to read about it and I highly recommend you to read it before you give up this car.

Great news for me. While starting to remove the old tranny, I found a loose connector at the front of the air box. Cleaned contacts, put back together and low and behold, PROBLEMS SOLVED. Just saved myself a crap load of cash.
Thanks for the advise

This just goes to show. Proper diagnosis is key to a proper repair. Also, you could also post a pic or describe where this connector was so that we can note this in the event someone has this problem
