I have a 98 v70r as i stated in the title. I just got through doing a head gasket job, and stage zero. The car runs out pretty well at this point, but its pushing oil through what may be a breather in the valve cover located between cylinders three and four.
A little bit of background; head was fully gone through and decked, i replaced every vacuum line i could, new pcv system, and i pretty sure all the vacuum lines are where they belong. Im building about ten pounds of vacuum at idle, which seems a bit low, and about ten pounds of boost at wide open throttle.
Any thoughts on what the problem may be? Thank you.

That hole gets posted about every couple of weeks. It is not a breather hole, it is a leftover from the early models (93-94). On your car it should be sealed from underneath and when it is, no oil can leak out of there. It should be bone dry.
So either the cam cover didn't get sealed properly and it is leaking there, or the oil is coming from somewhere else (filler cap gasket and PCV line are two very common sources) and accumulating there.
Do the standard drill: clean up all of the oil, watch where it is coming from as it starts to accumulate.

Thank you. I went out and did that. I can watch the hole fill with oil coming from the bottom of it. Look s like i will re seal the cover, and hopefully be good. Again, thank you for the reply.

Where did you get the head from? That hold should have been blocked.

I also had the same problem on my 1998 Volvo V70 AWD
Its almost up to par with where I want it
I'm just amazed to how much I save from not going to the stealership
