2002 v70 Rear wiper stuck at 3:00

Post by Grooveman221 »

Hi all.

My rear wiper arm is stuck at 3:00. If I engage it, it goes down to my rear bumper. I took the cover and nut off. But can't figure out how to reposition the arm.

I've tried elbow grease once the cover and nut are off, but it doesn't budge.

I found a PDF on this site that says "remove arm" but it doesn't help

I'm still stuck. Anyone had this happen before? I can't even remove the arm so I'm wondering if it's been tightened too hard.

Thanks in advance.

Remove the center nut and apply light penetrating oil (as WD-40 or similar product) at the junction of the arm & threads. Wait a few minutes. You have to move it side to side to break off the rust bond. Look at the following video to see how it is done.

See the following link on how to disassemble the mechanism. The white gear is often worn out. To my knowledge it is not sold separately. Also the shaft can rust inside its neck.

Hopes this help.

Better use Liquid wrench Lubricating spray.

Thank you forum!

Wd40 didn't work but the liquid wrench did.
