So, I've been fighting with my heat/AC in my 1996 855R ever since I bought it. Luckily, I have gotten it to the point where I actually have HOT heat in the winter. Unfortunately, it's too hot and I can't turn it off. It's really starting to piss me off.
It doesn't matter if I have the ECC set to the floor or my face, but it will ALWAYS come out of the vents aimed at my face. I can turn the fan up and have it blow out nice and strong, but when I turn the fan off (turn it to 0), hot air is still being blown towards my face. I have to physically close the vents. Also, I don't have any hot air at my feet.
The flapper next to the heater core (damper something? I dunno) that's a little metal rod into a plastic square was broken.... I ghetto-rigged it up and it works now. When I turn to the defrost, I can see it move and air starts blowing out towards the windshield.
I'm assuming something else like that is broken, but I have no idea where to look. Suggestions?
This is what I did, which fixed my one issue but it didn't send the heat to my feet....

You can always use the AIR MIX controller to send some cool/cold air into the face vents. Not sure, maybe this video will help.

Is the ECC still flashing the A/C and recirc lights when you turn it on, or are there no codes?
If it's flashing at all, ever, there's something likely still wrong with a damper motor somewhere.

You have problems with both your mix damper motor and the directional damper based on your description. I think diagrams on both of these are here on the Forum- try a search and I will try to find too.
