1996 855R Cargo Cover Installation Template

Post by xjflexer »

I managed to source a fully functional charcoal cargo cover for my 855R. I am in search of the template for the two holes per side that need to be drilled. If anyone has any info on this, I would greatly appreciate it!

A template would be easiest but it's doable without one. I got a cover on ebay about 10 years ago, and since it has a spring loaded end, I just pulled back that end and dropped it into place where it looked like it should go--about 3/4" to the rear of the seat backs. Then I used a soft lead pencil to trace around each locater pin. Next drilled a hole with a slightly smaller diameter and fine tuned it with a round file for a snug fit after a few tests installing the cover. Result was a nice clean install.

These covers are well made, mine still looks and functions like new.

That is probably what I will end up doing. I am so stoked to have picked this cargo cover up!!! I have been searching for a nice one for three years. Even though my windows are tinted pretty dark in the back, there are times I would like that added security if I have something of value in the back of my vehicle.
