2004 S40 Double DIN Stereo installation

It has been a while since this post was active, but I am looking at installing a double DIN receiver into my S40 and was hoping for some further advice. I am glad to read that the side rails (or slots) can be cut or filed away with success. Other than that, are there any other mounting or fitting issues I could be looking at.

I would consider myself a moderate DIYer, just my largest concern is firmly securing the radio for any aggressive driving that may occur

Old S40 or post 2004.5?
With the old S40 (00 to early 04) all the above will apply. The newer ones I have no idea but I don't think it's possible due to (the very narrow) size of the newer cars.

Start your new thread.
None of this is cheap. A decent DD will run at least $400 (and more with NAV etc).
A bit labor intensive as was said above
