850 fuel mileage problem

Post by chrisjm91 »

My 95 850 turbo no mods is not getting the mpg's that it should. My last 850 was a 96 non EGR And it took me from Virginia to Florida on one take of gas and could ride around town most of the day without noticing the gas gauge move. But my current 95 850 W/EGR guzzles the gas. Now I had the engine replaced with a used engine with low miles and had them replace all the essentials while they were at it ; timing belt & pulley, water pump & many other odds & ends. So where is my gas mileage going? Fuel filter or pump, egr valve, dirty air filter, pvc system, injectors or what do you think? Please help thank you!

I own my own obdII system, and the only code ever thrown was an "EGR Flow" code. And that didnt happen until I removed the intake manifold for cleaning. But the gas mpgs were down before that. Im sure the egr flow isnt helping.
