2001 Volvo S80 Electric Module Failures

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2001 Volvo S80 Electric Module Failures

Post by Dan T »

Hello all, the courtesy lights enable when I open a door and lock/unlock, however I cannot turn on the courtesy light manually, also my home-link system does not work, along with the mirror vanity lights, as well as the sunroof. Any ideas? The auto dimming rear view mirror does work though.

I know the sunroof problem has to do with resetting a particular module. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I believe you unlock and lock the car, using the key, 3 times. That should reset it.

Sounds like the alarm module is at fault. Search this site as the unit is simple to replace and located in the passenger front fender. I have a new unit if you can't find one. I was always the type to purchase parts well in advance if they were to fail. Obviously mine never did fail. I still have a used starter in my trunk if that ever fails. Lol
