850 PCV System vacuum hose connection

Post by Noerty »

Good day,

I just had to replace the head gasket on my 850.

It is driving in South Africa and unfortunately I cannot find a good routing diagram of my type of PCV system.

On my oil trap I have two large hoses one going to the tappet cover. One to the flange with the sieve on the intake hose.
BUT there is also a vacuum hose connected on the pipe towards the intake hose. It's connection is close to the oil trap. Where is the other end supposed to connect to? I will try to find a diagram and post it ASAP

Thank you guys for your help I couldn't find information anywhere so far.

This is the picture. The hose looks like number 9.

What instructions are you using to complete the job? Surely you have some guidance. Also, what year is the car?

That hose configuration is not one that I have ever seen before here in North America. But logic would suggest that the short piece of hose on #9 goes to the nipple on the passenger side of the intake manifold, is that nipple open?

I have a Haynes manual here. The car is running in South Africa that's maybe why the routing is different different emission specs. I could kick my ass not spending more attention to this. I didn't see a nipple there, I will check again tho. It's one of the cars with the variable intake manifold length by the way.

It is officially a 95. Also has OBD2 so I guess the routing differes because of emission legislation. And my pcv is from an older version.

You are welcome!

Does the hose in question seem to fit naturally on that nipple? I am curious because the end of the hose does not have a right angle bend, I would have expected that.
