The cabin ventilation system in my 2001 V-70 stopped working last week. All the indicator lights on the panel continue to work, including the fan speed etc… Then this week, those light also went out, so the panel is dark. At first I suspected the blower motor went out, but I suspect a fuse or relay. All fuses looked good. I can’t figure out which relay though. One relay says heater / blower, but also includes driver seat and other options that still work.
Help – any suggestions of which relay I need to replace to see if this fixes it.
I should note – we’ve had some very long extended days of 100+ temps when this happened. I’ve owned the vehicle since new. A new battery was installed three weeks earlier. (First one since new)
Thanks

It appears that you lost power to the climate control; check fuse # 11C/23 that supplies power to the Climate CTRL Module. There is no designated relay for this branch, the power supply comes straight from the Battery Positive Bus, regardless of the ignition switch position.
The fuse is located in the LH side of the dash. If it has blown, only replace it with the same amperage.
Please post back.

Jeff,
Please check the supply voltage at the fuse. If +12V is present and the fuse is good, and everything else is working, then the problem will be with the negative/return for the CCM.
Look for the grounding points in the electrical schematic here http://www.volvowiringdiagrams.com/volv ... agrams.pdf to identify the one to check.
Page 101 shows the CCM arrangement, the ground/return for the Module is from pin 16 on connector A to 53/438 and then to grounding point 31/84 (located by RH side door hinge as shown in illustrated diagram on page 176)
If you do not find a loose/broken ground, you may have to get to the electrical connectors at the CCM itself.

I say you may find something disconnected or loose (such as a ground wire or a recessed pin or even a whole connector detached)

...and I hope it's an STC problem rather than an STD....

So I pulled all fuses and tested. Pressed on all relays to make sure good connection. One item is fixed now in that all indicator lights now work again. The vents can be heard opening and closing etc... Manual fan speed lights illuminate etc... But no ventilation still. Before pulling blower, any other test ?
