2007 XC90 V8 Sport - Weird driver door electrical issues

Post by speedyswede83 »

Hello all,

When my driver door is closed: the driver window, lock and turn signal does not work (and makes a little noise in the door) and when I use the left hand turn signal the "door open" sensor is activated and I get all warnings and interior lights turn on. What's weird is that the buttons on the driver door for the other 3 windows DO work and when the door is completely open, everything works fine. I just don't understand!!! Any ideas before I take it to the dealer and empty my wallet?

sounds like something in the door loom is shorting out and causing the rear control module to freak out, if you're not into electrical diagnosis - be prepared - all labor to track down the problem - then chances are there's a hardware item at its end that will explain (and needs to be replaced) it.

Good Luck.

as a rule the ground cable is broken.
If you have questions about Volvo firmware ask me. I may know an answer :)
