2011 v50 AC problem

2011 v50 AC problem

Hello this is my first forum and wondered if anyone could help me ,i have just bought my first Volvo and when i use the AC i fusty smell is given out is there a solution to this please ,thank you kirsty .

There are several companies that make products that get introduced into aircon case in order for the product to attempt to clean out mold, mildew, etc that makes the odor. They do not work in all cases but almost always reduce the odor at least.
You need to be sure the aircon drain is not obstructed as the condensate (water) not draining creates a ripe environ for the biologicals to grow.
I'm not sure what brands may be avaialble in UK but Frigi-fresh is one. Ultrashield and Quest are a couple of others I have seen.
There are some professional ones that garages use that are blown in with special equipment.
The consumer available ones will have you spray it in according to their directions. Usually blower on a low speed and spray the aerosol can until empty either in the grille just in front of lower edge of windscreen or with recirc selected sprayed into top of opened glovebox. Then car sits with windows open for some hours.

Febreze! I would also check the condenser drain.
