Hi,
New here, and have kind of a general, maybe dumb question. I just had my cat replaced, and when I asked the mechanic what brand he used he casually said he did not know. I asked him again a few minutes later, and he looked at a piece of paper and said it didn't say, so I let it go. He told me it's guaranteed for 5 years, but by who? Wouldn't the guarantor be the company who made it?
Is it normal for a mechanic to install a part, not knowing what brand it is? This is the same mechanic who ordered the part. How can I figure out what brand the part is?
Thx

Did you receive any warrantee paperwork or at least any acknowledgement on the invoice? The mechanic may order the part, but the vendor is going to send what they have. It depends on the arrangements the garage has with suppliers. If you did not get any paperwork to back up your warrantee, go back and express your concern, get something in writing, and the garage should have a P.O. with the supplier, that could be checked out. Good Luck
