VIDA DICE Interface Issue

Post by boboweb »

Hello guys - it is nice to find this place ;)

I just bought Vida Dice

http://aliexpress.com/item/2012-version ... 51618.html

but unfortunately i have this issue :

Image

It pass all other tests except the interface test ! The tool did recognize the car (V70 2002) and it VIN number. But when i try to connect the ECU for diagnostics the options are grey and not avaible. The last LED of the tool "Vehicle interface status" stay grey !

I use Windows 7 , the tool is powered by the OBD2 connector (not external power source by adaptor) .

Can you suggest me any solutions for that issue ?
Thank you very much in advance !

As had been mentioned in other posts, the interface test uses a special loopback connector, so, it will always fail.

Have you updated the DiCE firmware from the same source that provided you VIDA?

AFIK, they need to match. I would do this from the DiCE folder, not from within VIDA.

This is misinformation regrding Dice firmware needing to match the source folder. Leave the firmware alone for the time being; it won't cause a problem unless it's corrupted.

When you search for a car by choosing "read vehicle" and you can find your own car this means that the Dice is working correctly.

Once the vehicle is found choose the other options on the car such as engine, transmission, RHD or LHD then sun roof presence.

After this press the OK button (VERY IMPORTANT)

You should be able to then choose Diagnostics (it will read most modules and provide a summary) then " Vehicle Communication"

Interface test not ok

Mind to share the solution of interface test not ok?

Windows 7 Ultimate, 2014D. Working well for many years. However, VIDA start act strange lately and dice cannot read my 2 cars. My dice unit used to work with Vdash as well.

Both VIDA and Vdash cannot read cars... It looks like something wrong with Dice.

I tried uninstall dice, restart laptop, reinstall, restart... no luck with it yet.

solution was given above, it will always fail that test, that doesn't mean its bad.
you could order a jrl or mongoose cable to use instead, they are tested.
