Hi all:

My 2002 V70XC threw a SRS Airbag service on the info screen and an 00D4 on a SnapOn scanner. My mechanic looked at AllData and it says it is a problem with the LED display, the SRS module received a CAN signal indicating the LED in the combined instrument panel is broken or a damaged LED in the DIM. The SRS indicator lamp will not light when the ignition is switched on.The DIM seems to be functioning and the SRS indicator light does come on briefly when the car is started. I found the thread:

https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... rs#p273496

and it talks about the airbag connectors losing contact. My mechanic had told me before he had diagnosed the code when I told him the SRS Airbag light was on, was a possible solution as he was familiar with Fords, especially, exhibiting a similar residue buildup from electrolysis on their connectors. Does anyone know where all the airbag connectors are located or does anyone know of another possible solution?

Thanks,
EChem

Did it threw the Airbag service all of a sudden or you had some repairs done just prior to it?

The code can only be cleared at the Volvo dealer for about $100 (or with a Vida/Dice scanner)

It could be that the DIM is faulty (common for 2002-2003 models) if so, look up on Ebay for a $150 repair service (http://www.ebay.com/itm/271601997001?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT).

The message also appears when something like the radio is disconnected without disconnecting the car battery.

Thanks for the reply, oragex.

No, the code just came before any service was done.

Could the DIM be faulty and not exhibit any problem? I see messages, can clear them and change to all of the driving info and no segments seem to be burned out.
