I followed the great instructions and tutorials on the site and bought an in-line check valve that I plan to put on the inlet side of the new fuel filter this weekend. It arrived yesterday, and when I evaluated the valve, it seems to have a relatively high crack pressure, and I'm concerned that it will put too much strain on the fuel pump. There are a lot of successful posts about using these 5/16" check valves so I am encouraged, but I DON'T want to fubar the fuel pump, by solving one problem and causing a bigger one. I haven't seen any long-term follow-up information about using these check valves and don't know if anybody wound up having to replaced their fuel pump after installing the check valve.
Any insight into whether this is a valid concern, before I take the plunge?
(Yes, I've checked the fuel pressure at the rail and watched it drop to 0 quickly after the engine is turned off, and I know it "can" be the fuel pressure regulator.)

Never heard of this
We've had one on our 2000 V70R since 2007 and 70K miles with no issues, ever!
and yes that is the good CV, just be careful with your install

Excellent - thanks JRL. I appreciate your quick reply. I have read many of your posts and I respect your experience. I recognize your "I will regret this" footer, about selling your 2000 V70R with 32K mile. You seem to know your way around Volvos - and I'm a newbie to the Volvo world. This forum is fantastic - thanks for helping.
I hope you can reply to my next post about whether I need to (or can) drain my oil cooler when changing from dino to Mobil 1.
