Couple of quick questions on brake rotor and caliper parts buying... apologies for having posted this in the parts section of the forum first and then re-posting here...
I'm planning to replace the pads, rotors and calipers on my '97 855 GLT at ~175K miles.
Question #1 on what comes with the rotors:
Has anybody bought the Volvo OEM rotors (part number 31262092)? If so, did each rotor come with two new caliper bolts? I think the part number of the bolts is 985426. It looks like Tasca has the lowest price I can find at about $56 each but as usual they are very slow to respond to questions and have no pictures or detailed descriptions of the parts they sell. FCP has great photos that show the OEM rotors come with two of the caliper bolts.
Question #2 on where to get good rebuilt calipers that include the bracket:
I'm thinking I may get rebuilt calipers from Advance Auto... has anybody used them before? I like the looks of them because they include the caliper bracket. The calipers are about $48/each:

What do you guys recommend?
Thanks!

Hi Jr, I recently got calipers from advance and they came with brackets. The calipers were stamped Volvo on the cast. They have been on the car for about 3000 miles with no issue. I thought these were a great deal.

Rotor: Brembo or Zimmermann or even Autozone Duralast.
The last time I bought a rebuilt caliper from NAPA< it came with bracket.
Pads: I use Pagid, Jurid or ATE.
I use autohausaz.com.

About 3 months ago, I put the Volvo OEM rotors purchased from FCP on the front of my wagon and they came with new caliper bolts. I would not order them again because they were made in China and the machining was poor compared to past Volvo rotors I've installed. Since the rotors were poorly machined, it makes me question the integrity of the product--specifically, the quality of the steel they are made of.
Earlier this year, I installed ATE rotors on the S70, made in Italy, which were also purchased from FCP. The machining was beautiful. They are, however, not painted.
FYI, the much more economical Bosch front rotors are unpainted and sourced from China. The rear Bosch are painted and made in Italy--go figure. The lower cost Meyle rotors are painted all around and get good feedback. They seem to be a company with a good reputation.
I would recommend the ATEs if you check to see they still come from Italy and you want to take the time to paint the hats. They are also oiled when you get them and require cleanup, but a superior product.
