This code, a misfire on #1, was triggered when I accelerated hard, uphill with a cold motor to get out of the way of a speeding car. No biggie but it did actually flash. As a rule, I never push the car hard when cold generally waiting until the temp gauge is in the middle.
Odd occurrence here, my "ready" indicators have ALL been not ready for a couple of weeks due to disconnect of the battery for some unrelated work. After getting the flashing 301, I plugged in my OBD to see what was going on and to my surprise, The P0301 was there but now the readiness indicators were ALL ready, everything, EVAP, Cat etc. It seems that triggering the 301 code may have tickled the computer to check the rest and hence set ready. I cleared the 301 putting everything back into not ready. Later this week, I will pull a plug wire and trigger another 30x and see if I can duplicate this phenomenon.
Will a misfire code clear itself after the misfire has been resolved?
