1999 s70 t5 flashing arrow p0740 code

Post by speedyt5 »

A couple weeks ago my 99 s70 t5 threw a P0740 code of torque converter clutch circuit/open, as well as a P1618 code. Cleared it, came back on a day later, has been on but no problems in drivability. Still flashes today, sometimes the flashing stops, however the car drives fine. Should I be expecting a major issue coming up or nothing?

If there is no change in drivability now, should I expect one in the future?

It sounds like a circuit problem. How does it affect drivability? if your transmission should be in limp mode, your MPGs should plummet.

In mine, a couple of rodents feasted on the ground wires for the transmission computer. I had to pull the intake manifold to fix that.

So, check all of your circuits going in and out of your TCM. And do not ignore the grounds! The TCM does weird things if it is not grounded correctly.
