2004 s60 whistling noise

I have a 2004 volvo s60. it makes a whistling noise. It only happened when I would start the car up a second time, like coming back from a store or if I accelerate. I had the tensioner replaced because it was in bad shape, the noise stopped, but it came back. I had the catalytic converter replaced because it was clogged and my car would get extremely hot when I drove it and the noise stopped then came back. Could it be a vacuum leak?

If you can hear it when standing by the engine, try removing oil cap and see if it stops.

After trying the oil cap try the fuel cap. Sometimes the fuel cap seal leaks and the whistling is fuel vapours whistling past the seal.

If your S60 is non turbo I remember reading that a clogged PCV is particularly noisy in one of these when clogged in the 03-04 years due to the oil trap design.

If it's a NON turbo, your PCV (breather) is clogged
