Deciding between 93 volvo 240 and 98 volvo v70

Post by aga1221 »

I have found 2 different Volvos in my area that I need help choosing. One is a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon and the other is 1998 Volvo v70 wagon. They are both priced close and the milage is 150000. I would appreciate any help as for which one will be optimal for me. The v70 is in a better shape and looks better but I have heard that the 240s are stronger and more durable with the engine. Can you help me make the right choice pls?

This is a for sale forum not a chat forum
I would suggest you ask this in an appropriate forum to get some answers.
This is night and day.
I would never own a 240, it's just a very old clunker. A 98-2000 V70 is a semi modern car and VERY comfortable, a 240 is very UNcomfortable (IMO). It's also agonizingly slow and not much works well (when they're working), the heated seats and A/C are a joke.

Cheaper to maintain, sure, but if you want cheap and reliable buy a Toyota Corolla. Nothing can beat that!
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP
