2000 S40 Blower Blend Door Location

Post by metalriff »

Can anyone advise me to the location of this? I have a heat issue and narrowed it down to the blend door but I cant seem to locate it. I have good fan speeds and temp but little to no airflow on any setting/def/vent/floor. I have the glove box and covers off and I can see most components, blower motor ect but cant locate the blend door actuator. Behind the radio maybe? Looks to be a bear to get at if it is. Thank you. Todd

A little update I did find the blend door actuator and linkage. I cut a access hole behind the glove box. Bummer though it is moving full range when moving the switch from def to floor. I can unhook it and operate it manually. Still no defrost air and minimal floor air. Blower is working fine but all I'm left with is I assume the door in the heater box is faulty? Thanks Todd

Sorry about that folks. The dummy new owner to a Volvo(me) didn't know there was a cabin air filter on this car. I removed it and it was plugged solid with pine needles and a mouse nest. Great airflow now.Moderator you can remove this or keep it as a reminder for folks to check the obvious . :D
