1998 S70 Runs for a bit, but won't restart

Post by dwsteele21 »

I have a car that after a few minutes of running down the road I can turn it off wait a few minutes and it won't start.
If I wait awhile it will restart. It has gas. Any suggestions?

Somewhere there is a description of the problem in that statement but I just can't put it together.

Does the car start OK when cold and then die suddenly after it is driven?

Does the temperature gauge get up to the 3:00 position when this happens or is it still warming up?

Is the Check Engine light on and, if so, have you had the codes read?

If you can get the codes read please post the P code numbers (Pxxxx) and not the standard auto parts store description of the problem.

I have had a flaky camshaft position sensor cause a similar problem but we need a bit more to work with to narrow your problem down. Elaborate a bit more.
