1998 V70 Cars dies at idle with MAF sensor connected
I just completed a full PCV replacment on my 1998 V70 Turbo, including new PCV trap and hoses. I connected the PCV lines correctly from the trap (beneath the intake manifold) including the small vacuum line on the passenger side of the intake manifold. I connected the other ends to the nipple on the turbo air intake as per instructions. I fired up the engine and it started up fine, but died at idle. When I disconnects the Mass Air Flow sensor electrical plug, the problem went away, but the engine is not running at optimum performance. I can hear the engine sounding like air is not moving properly through it. Why does it stall at idle with the MAF connected?

You have a massive air leak in your induction somewhere, broken hose, gasket, missing hose.
When your engine detects no MAF, it guesses at the fuel injected based on rpm, and it gets it pretty close to right.
When the MAF meters the air, the engine sends fuel to mix with the metered air, and your leak is letting in air that the engine doesn't know about, so it croaks.
If you can confirm no leaks, tears, breaks, then your MAF could be on the way out.
Use a name brand BOSCH part for the MAF - and if its a lot cheaper than the reputable parts places that support MVS, you will be posting to the "Why doesn't my 10 USD BUSCH MAF from China work?" thread
