2000 v70 Broken plastic "button" on rear windshield

Post by callmeskywalker »

Hello MVS,

I recently broke what I will describe as a "plastic button" piece on the rear windshield of my v70. (Scraping ice). I think it is a part of the rear-window heating system used for melting ice. I don't have a repair manual for my car, and I have not had any luck finding the part on Chilton or websites like it. I'm hoping someone here could give me the precise name of the part so I can go ahead and fix it.

To specify the "plastic button" some more, it is located on the upper rear windshield on the drivers side of the car. The piece completely snapped off, and I can know see directly into the trunk. It looks like there is a wire that was connected to the piece, and that wire is now just dangling with broken plastic on end, the piece that was outside the car is gone.

Thanks ahead,
Kyle

You broke of the rear washer nozzle. Avoid engaging the feature until you have replaced the nozzle or the wiperfluid will get all over the place.

Repair is easy and simply requires you to remove the inner cover panel for the upper half of the tailgate.

Pull one out of a salvage yard. Be gentle they are brittle. I did the same thing.
