'99 V70. No start condition MVSOLVED. New batt cables

Sitting in a parking lot unable to start my wife's V70. All the dash warning lights come on and I get a rapid click click click almost like the emergency flashers when I turn the key. Any advice while I await triple A?

I would say that your battery is flat.

Does warning lights disappears when you try to start the car?

If you have auto transmission...try to start it in "n"position.

Sounds right. try jumping it. the clicking is just not enough juice to hold the solenoid coil.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Might be worth trying that ignition switch bypass wire.

Classic dead battery. I was away from the car for five minutes and new driver son had the lights on, seat heaters going, radio on, etc. with the engine off and that was, apparently enough to run the battery down in five minutes to prevent a start in 37 degree weather. The battery is an Interstate, new in May of 2013. Should a newish battery go flat after five minutes with that kind of load, or should I be concerned about a larger issue? The Triple A jump pack had us going instantly.

Remove it from the car,get it charged for at least 12 hours(slow charge).Remove the caps from the battery while charging,let it cool at least 2 hours before get it back into the car.

Or...just go out and buy a new battery.

I think that you can save this one with proper re-charging.

Thanks, Misha -- Sealed battery -- no caps. I have a trickle charger. Can I just leave it in the car with the trickle charger on it overnight?

Since it have no caps...i would remove it because it can explode IN the car.

Are you sure it's fully sealed?No caps even under the top labels?
