1995 850T Flashing Arrow & CEL Code #P0715

Post by iruleyounow »

I got in the car today and was backing out of the driveway when the CEL came on and the arrow started flashing. The Econ/Sport/Winter button was flashing as well. I looked up the code and it was a P0715 which said something about the turbine. From what I have read this has to do with the Transmission speed sensor or the RPM sensor. One is under the car and the other is under the battery tray. I need help on where to go from here?

There was no definitive answer on how to fix this issue anywhere I looked. I had only this one code pop up no others. I need to change the fluid in the trans but other than that there is no issue. I went ahead and erased the code and drove it around without incident. The transmission shifts smooth and I've never had any trouble with it.

Anyone have experience with this issue? Just in-case it comes back I would like some kind of fix.

Thanks guys!

A bad PNP can cause it to throw the same code. Do the reverse lights work?

If you row the shifter back and forth, quickly, from park to low a dozen times or so it will usually loosen up the grease and restore functionality for a while and buy you time to deal with it.

I'm not too sure actually! I'll double check. That's funny that you say that because it happened backing out of my driveway.

All the lights work and so far the code hasn't come back. Everything has been smooth so I suspect that was issue. It happened while reversing so I'll just keep an eye on it! Thanks again!
