XC90 going into limp mode when engaging cruise control
XC90 going into limp mode when engaging cruise control
Twice in the last two days, when resuming cruise control the car has given the "Reduced Engine Power" warning. If I pull over and restart, then the error is cleared and the car drives normally. It really only seems to happen in conjunction with the cruise control. The dealer can't find any error codes either. Is this a failing ETM or is it more likely something else?

The XC90 does not have an ETM but has a drive by wire system by Bosch which replaced the ETM by Magnetti Marelli in 2003.
You may have already found the answer to this question however for the benefit of those XC90 owners who have had similar problems it is more likely another problem in the vehicle. There may be a relay or a control error.
Electronic Throttle Body problems always occur during normal driving. If car goes into limp mode during normal driving cruise control is not permitted by the car's engine management system.
Did a reload of engine management software fix your problem Valheru?
