1999 v70 T5 right rear ABS sensor wire repair

Post by abscate »

Upstate Ny in late DEC, 26F
Cold but dry driveway...so cold soldering iron is barely hot enough to melt solder on wires

2 hours to block jack remove sensor, solder, heat shrink wires, adjust brake ....cold.

Watching ABS light cycle off after self-test, giving me back STC and ABS....priceless

Pics to come.

Good deal. One issue down, more to go as they come up.

I despise wrenching in the winter. Having a garage is nice and having a torpedo heater is swell too, but I still don't like it.

Space ( torpedo ) heater and a parachute.
Next best thing to a garage.

I couldn't believe root cause for this. I had my car aligned after doing delta links and struts, and I remember the shop telling me they pulled the rear right hub for some reason. My ABS wire was pinched between the hub and trading arm and of course had broken at the pinch point.

It looks like my rear calipers are also freezing up, so I might have to be back under this winter

I would love to get into my garage, but it's packed with projects
