2000 v70 dies when running, restarts after sitting 4 1 minut

SO this is a weird problem. V70 runs fine most days and then all of a sudden motors dies. When checking the fuel pump rail for fuel, (by pushing button) fuel runs out. Wait for a minute or 2 (with key off) motor will start back up and runs fine. Happens with full tank of fuel or with less than 1/4 of a tank. I have already replaced the fuel filter.

While checking a few more things today, to see if I have make this happen in the driveway at home.
I drained the fuel rail, un-plugged the fuel pump relay and made engine die out.
Engine would not restart until I heard what sounded like a ball dropping inside the inside the fuel rail?

Today I replaced the fuel pump relay and I'm hopping that this solves the problem.

Either a bad fuel pump relay or the fuel pump is on the way out.
The best diagnostic approach is to temporarily install a jumper wire (search forum for 15 and 87 jump wire) and drive around for a few days, if the problem is gone, then it is a bad relay.
