Hi All:
I am in sudden need of a starter for my 2000 V70 N/A here north of Toronto. Neither Partssource nor Canadian Tire carry them anymore and my car is sitting in a stranger's driveway (went there to buy some snow tires for my wife's car, where it promptly died!).
If you have one, please PM me-- I'd like to get this sorted out ASAP!
Thanks!
2000 V70 Anybody in Greater Toronto Area have a starter?

I think most of the 850 starters will fit it as well. There is some weird California starter but, perhaps with some bracket swapping, you can get a standard 850 starter to work.

Thanks Lee-- got one locally from an 850-- swapped the bracket and it went in fine (same part number on the starter itself).
Strangely, it looks like the failure was a break in the pigtail from the solenoid to the starter.
Glad to have this sorted!

That's a common cause of "sudden starter failure" rather than the " gradually dying" kind

Interesting-- in 30+ years of cars I've never had one go like that...
