1998 s70 actuator lineup with outside latch

Have replace actuators a few times on this model sometime ago but never ran into this problem.

Passenger Front door. Recently bought the car and wanted to change the actuator which wasn't working.

Took old one out and put new one in but it seems I can't get it to line up with the outside door latch.

I seems off and the actuator lock is flush in the car. How is the actuator connected to the outside door

(a diagram would be great). Is there a piece which connects the rubber piece on the actuator to the latch

or does the latch connect directly on the actuator.

Any help would be appreciated

If you are changing the whole latch then the door handle hooks into the latch and it is bit if a bear to get it to hook properly. I have some pictures that I posted for another member but I can't seem to find them on the computers that they should be on.

Robert has a video that is more about the motor than the latch but it may give you some pointers.

I did some research seems that part # 8618024 is a link which goes between the exterior door handle and the actuator. If correct the car is missing this.

Am I correct?

It might be missing but I doubt it. It isn't a loose part, it is captive in the latch assembly when properly installed.

The part number you referenced is shown in the circle on this picture.
