About 7 months ago I was having a coolant leak into the driver's side floorboard. I bypassed the heater core and everything was fine. Now all of the sudden there is water in my driver side floorboard again. It isn't from the radiator because I bypassed the heater core. Also the fluid level on my radiator isn't going down. Any suggestions on what this could be?

Thank you in advance,
Michael Smith

It could be a plugged up sunroof drain or even a plugged up drain in the cowl. How much water are we talking about?

Michael...if you removed the core it could be water from your climate system that is spilling onto your floor from a hole left from your bypass. It is supposed to drain through a small elbow hose on the top of the tunnel

When I step in the car you can hear a squish. Also I didn't remove the heater core. I just cut the hose from the firewall and rerouted it.

When the core leaksm the coolant can run into the back of the car and sit there.

Did you park on a steep hill or make a sudden stop recently?

I had about 6 liters of coolant sloshing back there

No. It's only in the front drivers side floor board. I notice it after I have driven it. I dried out all up and the next day after driving to work it was there again.

Unless your are running straight water in the cooling system, I'd suspect a plugged drain. Is the car garaged either at work or overnight? Is it near overhanging trees, etc. . .

Not in a garage at home. It is in a parking garage at work. It isn't just happening when it rains. It has been several days since it rained.
