Last time I had damp carpet on the drivers side it was the heater core leaking. Does the wet smell like antifreeze?

x2. That's what mine was. Seems to be a common problem. If it is, replacement isn't too bad:

...or draining holes on both sides on front of the car by the windshield are clogged.

If it's from a rain or a car wash that's it.

Open the hood and you will see two draining hoses on the left and right side of the plastic shield under the wipers.

1+,

O.P, check your coolant reservoir level first.

As you can see, there are multiple options (they covered every single one)

A good place to start would be to decide if it is water or coolant. wipe/touch carpet with your finger and dab onto tip of tongue: coolant is very bitter and doesnt take much to taste it on tip of tongue. If bitter: heater core. If water: coming from somewhere else.

Check the location of the cabin filter, right by outside corner is drain. Make sure to clean this first.
