After replacing several broken rear interior panels to try to eliminate a creak/groan from the rear hatch area of this wagon, I have had little or no success finding the cause. Even lay in the rear area while my son drove the car around to see if I could identify the source.
It doesn't seem to happen when driving on a flat'ish surface, but if the road surface is bumpy, I get the noises from the rear area of the car caused by the twisting motion.
I know there are bum stop adjusters for the hatch, and my feeling is the hatch is not sitting fully home allowing the hatch to move when the rear twists.
Anyone else had this problem with their car and had any success fixing it?
I've had a look at the latch and the pin for the latch and while the pin has a plastic cover that is getting worn, I don't see any adjustment on either part of the mechanism, only the bump stops have a little movement.
Suggestions please!
Thanks,
Neil.
