Sticky Buttons!

Post by JavaJiver »

While I am sure the heated seats have long since ceased being able to heat up in my 93 850 I do not like that the passenger side button is broken.

Also I noticed that the window buttons are rather...Sticky. Not to the touch but they tend to stay down.

Is it easy to clean the panel?

Heated seats problem may be an undone wire harness that goes to small thermostat in center of seat bottom. Common for these to get pulled out by the seat moving front/back. Follow the wires.

should help with window buttons.

For those, and any other, search this site. There's a ton of fixes, and not all are on the Volvo Repair Database page.

I read your 850 story. Sounds like you got a great deal. :D

So I thought...So I thought...
As of today I still do not have the car back.
My guy dropped the oil pan and resealed it but the oil is still coming from somewhere. I am very close to getting my money back and buying a 2001 S60 2.4T

I really do like the 850 and it would have been a great deal but I need it to not leak oil ya know?

Edited for: Spoke to my mechanic and it was the oil pan. He explained that when he resealed it before with the Volvo seal it did not seem to fix the problem so he spoke to some fellow mechanics and they gave him some help. It is running right now so we play the waiting game...just a bit longer though.
No no no...The green wire!
