2003 S60 what is needed to reset ATF fluid count

Post by Delirious »

In preparation to change ATF I need expert advice as what is needed for the software part of the job. I already have an Autel scanner and a Vida 2014a software (downloaded). To get Vida to work with my laptop I was going to get a OBD2 to USB cable,

Can you explain the difference?

The blue item won't work with Vida software.

The Dice is designed to work in unison with the Vida software and explore all the menus contained in the interface.

I've never heard or read about any other scan tool working with Vida.

First one is a funny whistle (from your Volvo point of view :), the other one is what you want. If you buy a Chinese clone, buy from a reputable seller: lots of clones are malfunctioning garbage.

The Vag-Com cable works seamlessly with VOl-FCR and is an indispensable tool for 96-98 Volvos.

O.K. so before I go and invest in another scan tool, VIDA dice is the only way to reset the ATF counter?

I can see Vag-Com, but what is VOl-FCR, osman?
Our '97 850 feels left out now that the 2001 V70XC is often hooked up to VIDA-DiCE.

Dice with Vida is the only way to reset the fluid counter. There is another tool which is just as expensive as a Dice that works with Vida however can't recall the name.

Of course Dice/Vida can also get the transmission into Adaptation which is probably more important than the fluid reset.

O.K. so vida dice is what will work but how about "M-VCI". It is suppose to support vida software and is also good for other cars. Anyone have or use one? Please refer to the picture attached.

There are things I don't know about Volvos and this is one of them.. No one here at MVS has used that system.
