1999 Volvo S 80 emissions system service required ?

Hi to all,

I have a Volvo S80 1999 2.4 non turbo with 83000 km.I have had this fault for 2 months now i have read a lot of posts for this problem.
I sent my car to an independent Volvo mechanic and he scanned the car, he said that there is not anything wrong with the car (o2 sensors ok, etm ok, catalytic converter ok) and he said that there is nothing he can do about it. I suspected that there is a problem with fuel quality and changed the filling station and type of fuel with the best they have (not 100 octane) no change , then i changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, cleaned the etm, fuel cap seal (gas cap seal), sandpapered the filling point for the gas cap seal to seal better and checked the pcv it is ok, there is no drop on MPG also when i push the trip button it shows message 42.I have run out of ideas now.

What to do please help i hate that light on the dashboard?????

I am thinking i have a crack in hoses that go to evaporation canister can anybody tell me where is the evap canister located it isn`t near fuel filter on my case?
