1995 850 Turbo - Cylinder Head Casting Question

Post by kaireland »

I have tried to figure this out and just seem to be more confused than I was before. I have a crack in the head from my 95 850 Turbo. It has a casting number of 1001683. Can I replace this head with any other turbo head from an 850 or 98 S70 (Non-VVT), or do I need to find one with the same casting number?

That crack comes from not lifting the cams straight up and out when removing the valve cover. It doesn't automatically warrant getting a new head though.

Yes, any turbo head 95-98, as long as it has the same number of valves (not sure what was available in your market).
