Sorry if this is redundant, but I couldn't find anything other than T6 issuses. I am looking to buy a XC90 and wondered, other than the T6 transmission issues, are there any other common problems I should be looking for as I shop around for a vehicle. I am looking for a 2.5T version with the climate package and the convenience package. Are there any common problems with those packages or that motor I should look for?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

That is pretty much the only problem with the 2003-2006 xc90.
Once you find a well maintained xc90 2.5T and you are ready to buy it, make sure to set aside some money to immediately do the timing belt and associated pulleys and water pump, as well as the PCV.
Depending on how much you drive, you should be good for a good 3-4 years of problem free service.

Huzz pretty much nailed it.
2.5T a solid choice if maintained. Wifes has 125K on it. We are second owner... was a CPO vehicle so was dealer maintained to 100k. I intentionally purchased the 2.5T. Had it shipped because I wanted a CPO and one that was not from the rust belt. Spent a little more money up front but purchased a solid base with no issues. Have had several of the 5 cyl Volvos over the years and if they are maintained they run forever.
