1998 volvo v70 won't start

When I try to boost my 1998 volvo v70, the alarm wont stop going off. Normally I would just stop the alarm by using the key twice (i do not have a remote control starter) but now that function and any other electronic function does not work because the battery is dead. The only way I have to get in the car is to use the key in the driver door once to unlock that door only. When i start to boost the car the alarm goes on and i have no way of shutting it off. If i ignore the alarm and continue trying to boost then the alarm noise stops but the alarm lights still go off. It seems like the battery never charges because the car wouldn't start after being connected to a running car for a long time. I don't know how to get this car started because the only way i know how to shut off the alarm is to turn my key twice in the driver door and that's not working.

Do you have a battery charger? If so just disconnect the battery cable and charge the battery without the car being hooked up. After the battery charges back up then you can hook the cable back up.
