1999 V70 T5 Steel rim Hub cover

Problem - with snow tires on steel rims for winter, my Volvo hub covers don't fit the steel wheel rims. I see lots of people who just ride these around, but I don't like slush, snow and salt getting into the hub area and freezing up the axle and hub assembly.

I measured the ID of the hub at 56mm - I couldn't find aftermarket covers except at one place that wanted 35 USD for a set of 4. I don't need them on the rears.

I found a 2 inch PVC block off plate at Lowes that fit perfectly
A 36 mm socket and 2 light taps with a hammer popped them in place perfectly with a friction fit.

I really scored on those.

I had four old cooper snows that were treadless, but it turned out there was a recall on them and I got four free snows.

This solution still cost me $1.36, there has to be a cheaper way...

Newspaper plastic bag remnants was my temp solution for keeping the hub axle nut clean, btw.
