'99 S70 - Interior Door Panel Delamination

Has anybody come up with a good solution for regluing the vinyl on the interior door panels when Volvo's environmentally-friendly glue lets go?

I have a few, surplus to requirements, that I can experiment with. I was considering going in from the back side with something like a small holesaw -- think Dremel tool -- and making a hole in the backer board behind the area with the greatest separation. After creating the hole I'd spray in some 3M upholstery adhesive and then use a smooth object like an apple to press the vinyl in place. Finally, I'd glue a piece of cardboard over the sawn hole to seal things up.

I thought this approach made more sense the going in through the front side.

Any thoughts from those who've been down this road before?

I will be going to an upholstery shop in the near future and will take a panel with me and ask some questions. I have one from the passenger side that is still glued and thought of using the product "great stuff" and try and make a mold of the area in question and be able to use that when I figure out the gluing. Not much help, but the idea of fixing this has been on my mind.
