Do lowering spring lower the center of gravity and your car?
I am thinking about buy the IPD 113136 - Sport Lowering Springs 4 piece kit.
I live in pothole city and want better steering but my glt is low as it is. Will this screw me when I hit pot holes?

It might be. Depends on how deep they really are and if you try to avoid them.

Snow is also a consideration in Maine, you wont want your bumper to become a snow plow.

All that being said, you should be OK. I drive over potholes and drove all winter with snow and did not have any issues with my lowered car.

You may also find your old springs have 'settled' over time and the difference may not be as big as you think! Our 93 850 seemed to sit really low. IPD may also be able to tell you how much it should lower the car. Lowered springs can also ride harsher so if you are concerned about comfort....!

I have Eibach springs, about an inch off both ends. I've lived with the car in Chicago and Pittsburgh, and it handles fine over potholes. I did lose a 16" wheel to a pothole, but I doubt that can be attributed to the springs.

The body still leans hard, and the car still exhibits pronounced understeer. If you want the car to handle well, struts and sway bars will probably be a better investment. But your car will look cool on springs, and nobody's looking to be an autocross champion in an 850.
