1997 850 GLT non turbo smoking after pcv change

Post by caltex08 »

Hello, I have been using this forum as well as some videos I found on youtube to change the PCV system in my 97' 850 GLT. Prior to changing the pcv system the car had what I think was a busted coolant sensor (I think thats what it is called) And a cracked thermostat. After I changed that I discovered that the car had an oil leak and a milky dip stick. at this point I put some bars stop leak into the coolant reservoir and prayed for the best. It continued to burn oil and lose power so I changed the pcv system. Now the car does not take a long time to warm up like it did before but, it's smoking from the engine block I think or somewhere in the back. Im not quite sure how to trouble shoot it from here and stop it from burning oil or what may be clogged.

Milky dipstick is normal when you make frequent short trips in cold weather.Don't add any additives if you don't understand what is going on because you can make more harm than good.

It can burn oil if piston rings or valve stem seals are bad. What makes you think that it is burning oil because something is clogged?!

sounds like multiple things going on.... where should we start to help you? Whats your biggest concern?

Are you having to top off coolant? Is there oil in the coolant?
