2007,V70 Fuel Filter Location

Hi all,
I can tell you the fuel filter is not located on the passenger side before the rear wheel (like my 96' 850)
Volvo says I have one because to the vin#.
Any help?

Finally!
Called another dealer. I have a California emission car with a steel tank. Bought new in Connecticut.
There is no filter, just a stainer in the fuel pump.

There is a filter. It is part of the whole pump/sending unit cup assembly.
The primary filter on all P2, P1, and P3 models is the membrane on the pickup. The upstream fuel filter is secondary and one main purpose is to stop wear particles from electric pump. The fuel flows through the motor and brush wear particles are in the fuel stream.
You replace those when the pump fails or if something stops it up. You could go 250K miles or 2500 miles if you buy a load of fuel that is full of water.
There are some cars made (not Volvo) that have the steel tanks and the pump and filter and other check valves are inside tank and it is laser welded together and there is NOTHING serviceable. Stopped up filter or bad fuel pump requires a new tank.

I should have said there is no secondary replaceable filter outside of the fuel tank.

How do you locate/access the fuel pump on a 09 xc70? I would i have to drop the tank to access it? Tried going through the rear seat but I'd have to cut out an access point. Since my car starts fine but doesn't stay on could I just replace the fuel pressure sensor?

Car won't stay on and runs like shit. Change spark plugs and coil packs maybe?

Could be fuel pressure. On my S60 2.5T it would cut out like you shut the fuel off or the torque converter was slipping. In my case it was typically at highway speed. Fairly inexpensive part and easy to replace. Use a name brand one and not Amazon/eBay no name — if I recall right I used a Bosch.

Yes. On P3 XC60 you also have to cut the section out of a catback, Volvo sells the repair kit for that.

Are you saying that a piece of the exhaust system needs to be removed?
Why not drop the involved section totally, then and reinstall it after the work with the gas tank is done?
