2005 Volvo S40, CD player, Radio issues.

Hello everyone.

I am currently having issues with my CD player, radio and parking sensors. When I turn the ignition on, the cd player and radio activates for about twenty seconds then turns off. This has occurred for about half a year and once this happens they do not come back on, until a cold start.

I have checked the fuses and the wiring, the climate controls are working fine. My local garage suggested the vehicle needs a system update, however I feel I need more advise before I head to the nearest Volvo garage.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Any time I hear about crazy car actions, my first thought is "old battery." I would check battery voltage after leaving the ignition/lights on for ~10 minutes. Also check all terminals and connections for tightness and solid electrical contact.
