My angle gear is shot. Can I remove a turn the car front wheel drive? Is it a big job to do?

As long as the angle gear isn't spewing fluid you can just remove the tailshaft only. If you remove the angle gear there will be multiple headaches. You'll need a quality 6mm Allen key for the bolts.
